Testimonials

Columbus SCUBA Inc. loves to teach SCUBA and it shows!  Check out some testimonials from our past and present students.

Andy, I want to thank you and the staff at Columbus SCUBA for the outstanding instruction my daughters and I received.  Of all the local schools available, we were extremely fortunate to have chosen you as our instructor.  Your expertise and love of the sport are evident in your teaching and care for your students.  Your patience in providing clear, concise instruction allows all to master the skills necessary to gain the confidence and proficiency needed to dive safely.  There are not many activities in which a father and his 12 year old daughters can participate equally.  I cannot thank you enough for the experiences we have shared through diving.

My experience with Columbus SCUBA is through the non-profit organization I work with. At our field station in the Bahamas we work weekly with students ranging from high school to post-graduate levels studying marine and subtropical ecology.  CSI has been an integral part of the operation for the last nine months as he has outfitted our dive shop, certified our staff (up to rescue and divemaster), and instructed our visiting students.

In my experience with Columbus SCUBA, I have realized the instructor's passions for diving extends through them to all of their students, many of whom have left the field station with not only a new-found hobby, but also potential career aspirations in diving. Columbus SCUBA's diving style is the picture of safety and responsibility in the water, and their ease and ability to communicate with the students makes the environment ideal for learning on any level of instruction. It has been an absolute pleasure to be able to work with Columbus SCUBA for the diving aspect of our field studies, and Andy is an invaluable member of our team. I enthusiastically recommend Columbus SCUBA to my closest family and friends, as well as potential students.

Columbus SCUBA helped me to discover what I know will be a life-long activity. Their student discount made it affordable for me and my girlfriend. The instructors and divemasters definitely know how to dive and, more importantly, how to teach others to dive.

I've had many memorable weekends with the people I have met through Columbus SCUBA, whether it be camping and diving at Portage Quarry or diving for fossils in Charleston, SC. I would recommend Columbus SCUBA to anyone interested in learning how to dive.

The team at Columbus SCUBA Inc. has a passion for SCUBA diving.  They are willing to help one explore and learn all about SCUBA. It is quite contagious!

I am so glad that I chose to get my open water certification through Columbus SCUBA Inc. They were extremely helpful and made the experience a lot of fun. The instructors were genuinely interested in teaching and optimizing the time we had as a class. They tailored their instruction to each individual and made sure that no one was left behind or left out. In fact, I loved the class so much that I went back and got my Advanced Open Water with them as well.

My brother and I vacationed in Jamaica one summer. While there, we experienced snorkeling in warm, crystal clear water for the first time. It was like nothing we had ever experienced. On one occasion we observed some SCUBA divers swimming by and the thought of spending more than a few minutes in this amazing underwater world is all we could think of.

When we got back to Ohio I noticed a flyer for Columbus SCUBA, Inc. (CSI), made a call and had us signed up for the next class.  It was scary and amazing and exciting all at the same time.  The staff were great and we even went and hung out at a local restaurant after each class.  The stories I heard while hanging out with them hooked me on SCUBA and I never looked back.  My open water experience was great as well. There were a lot of other divers there doing the same thing I was and it was a great weekend of camping, cooking out and socializing.

The cool thing - as I was leaving - everyone invited me back for more of the same the following weekend.  CSI didn't forget about me once I was certified and, in fact, I suddenly had a great many new friends.  I didn't have to pay for these weekends and there was always somebody diving who would invite me along.  That was crucial to my diving as I probably logged around 50 dives that first summer alone.  CSI didn't have a monetary interest in me after my Open Water class, but they had a personal interest in me and that made me feel right at home.  They even helped my brother get a job on a liveaboard dive boat in Belize after he got his Divemaster.  I enjoyed the experience so much that I became an instructor. My goal is to provide that same experience to someone out there who was just like me.

The best thing - I actually met my wife while on one of these SCUBA weekends AND we got married in Cozumel where I was able to dive (on my wedding day)!  To give you an idea of the kind of friends I made SCUBA diving - ten other people I met through CSI, including my instructor, came with us.  It was amazing!

- Shane - Instructor
