Columbus Scuba, Inc. (CSI) conducts instructor training through it’s Columbus, Nelsonville, and Andros, Bahamas locations.  Our philosophies are based on internship complimented by classroom, pool and open water training.  CSI prides itself on thorough training curriculum and testing.  This assures success in job placement and safe instruction.  Divemaster, Assistant Instructor and Instructor courses may be taken either locally or in Andros, Bahamas.

Assistant Instructor
This program is designed to train qualified Dive Masters to teach a part of the Open Water Diving Program and conduct relevant assessment. These individuals may teach and assess the theoretical part of all Open Water Diving Program courses, the complete Snorkeling course, and the complete Free Diver course. Assistant Instructors that have gained progressive experience in teaching may also teach and assess all confined water skills of any level of Open Water Diving Program under the direct supervision and authorization of an Open Water Instructor (or higher).
 
Cavern Divemaster
This Program is designed to extend the diver’s knowledge to safely guide professional cavern tours of non-cavern certified divers (maximum 4 divers) in an overhead environment.  Focus of this program is on safety, conservation, professionalism and preservation.
 
Divemaster

This Program is designed to provide responsible training for those persons wishing to supervise divers. These include Open Water Diver, EANx Diver, Advanced EANx Diver, and Deep Diver. Dive Masters may teach the Snorkel Diver program.  Qualified Dive Masters may teach the IANTD OW Free Diver course.

Dive Masters may supervise, escort and assist in all IANTD Open Water SCUBA Diver Programs but cannot conduct SCUBA training exercises unless under the direction of a qualified IANTD Advanced EANx Instructor. Dive Masters are qualified to plan and execute emergency procedures appropriate for the diving activity and environment.

Upon completion of this program, Dive Masters may conduct any specialized scuba diving activities for which they have received appropriate training. If diving in conditions significantly different from those previously experienced the Dive Master shall require an appropriate orientation.

 
Instructor
This Program is designed to train qualified IANTD Instructors. These individuals may teach and assess Snorkel Skin Diver, OW Free Diver, Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Deep Diver (Must be qualified Advanced Nitrox Diver or higher), and Rescue Diver Programs. Open Water Instructors may also supervise Assistant Instructors.  Specialty Instructor qualifications can be earned after the IDC is successfully completed and a resume of experience in the specialty area is submitted and approved by the Instructor Trainer.
