Technical Diving

A technical diver may wish to explore a little deeper or further than an average recreational diver.  This requires a fair amount of initial recreational experience and certainly some training.  Columbus SCUBA, Inc. (CSI) can assist you in training with everything from Advanced Recreational Trimix to Expedition Trimix and CCR Cave courses.  Visit the beautiful caves of Northern Florida and explore the deep wrecks off Miami.  IANTD is the founder and leader in technical training.  CSI’s affiliation with IANTD allows us to network with some of the most accomplished Technical instructor’s in the world at all levels of diving.

Advanced Nitrox

The Advanced Nitrox course is the first step toward becoming a technical diver.  The advanced Nitrox Course incorporates a new realm of equipment and configuration, gas management, oxygen toxicity, decompression procedures, and deep diving.  Looking to increase your gas supply?  The advanced Nitrox course can incorporate the use of double tanks and decompression bottles.   A very exciting and equipment intensive course for the diving enthusiast.

Advanced Recreational Trimix
The Advanced Recreational Trimix Course teaches the fundamentals of decompression diving while using Trimix as a back gas and decompressing on an oxygen rich nitrox blend.  Significantly reduce the narcotic effects in extended range diving with Trimix and while diving a more sophisticated equipment configuration.  Gas management is ever so important during deep dives.  Learn advanced gas management and increase your gas supply by adding doubles to your repertoire.  Advanced Recreational Trimix is ideal for environments such as Gilboa Quarry and the diving portion of the course can be taught in its entirety there unlike most Trimix courses available.

Cave Diver and Technical Cave Diver

This program is designed to train divers in safe cave diving. Technical Cave teaches the technical utilization of EANx for cave exploration, and the use of EANx and oxygen for decompression.  Cave diving is a type of technical diving in which specialized SCUBA equipment is used to enable the exploration of natural or artificial caves which are at least partially filled with water. It is an extension of the more common sport of cavern diving.  Water-filled caves attract cavers and speleologists due to their often unexplored nature, and present divers with a technical diving challenge. Caves often have a wide range of unique physical features, such as stalactites and stalagmites, and can contain unique flora and fauna not found elsewhere.

Expedition Trimix Diver
This program is designed to train open circuit or rebreather divers already involved in deep diving activities to more safely conduct exploration dives requiring extended decompression profiles and helium-based gas mixture. This program is not intended to be used as an enticement to divers who are content to remain in normal Trimix diving limits. Trimix affords a safer means for deep-water exploration for divers who dive deep or perform with a clear head at depth. The IANTD Trimix Diver Program requires the diver to be self-sufficient/reliant.  The knowledge and skills taught in this program are more than adequate to qualify divers to perform Trimix Dives outside of training up to 400 fsw (120 msw).

Normoxic Trimix Diver
This program is designed to train those who wish to dive to depths between 130 fsw (39 msw) and 200 fsw (60 msw), but who do not wish to breathe air below 130 fsw (39 msw). Trimix affords a means of reducing narcosis on dives to such depths.  The knowledge and skills taught in this program are more than adequate to qualify divers to perform Trimix Dives outside of training up to 200 fsw (60 msw).

Open Water Side Mount Diver

Interested in transitioning to doubles and not quite sure?  Looking for an alternative? The Open Water Side Mount Diver Course is designed to familiarize divers with the techniques, equipment and mindset required for Side Mount diving. It also enables divers to proficiently assemble and use Side Mount equipment. The Program also teaches divers the proper techniques to safely conduct dives that warrant the use of Side Mount equipment.

Technical Diver
This Program is designed to train divers to conduct dives to depths between 100 fsw (30 msw) and, at the instructors option, up to 170 fsw (51 msw) using custom blend breathing gas mixtures; and to provide greater understanding of custom blend breathing gas mixtures, a complete knowledge of the limits of any EANx mixture, and the use of EANx and oxygen for decompression.  The knowledge and skills taught in this program are more than adequate to qualify divers to perform dives outside of training up to 180 fsw (54 msw).

Trimix Diver
This program is designed for those individuals already involved in deep diving activities, but is not intended to be used as an enticement to divers who are content to remain in Sport or EANx diving limits. Trimix affords a safer means for deep-water exploration for divers who dive deep or perform with a clear head at depth. The IANTD Trimix Diver Program requires the diver to be self-sufficient/reliant. The knowledge and skills taught in this program are more than adequate to qualify divers to perform Trimix Dives outside of training up to 333 fsw (100 msw).
