Cooper River, South Carolina – July 4th – 8th, 2018

Have you ever imagined what it would be like to scuba dive over 10 million years ago? Come dive where the ancient Megalodon once lived and recover million year old teeth and other prehistoric artifacts.

We will do two tank dives each day on the Cooper River in South Carolina. Jump into the murky water and bring up million year old treasures!

Megalodon is an extinct species of shark that lived approximately 15.9 to 2.6 million years ago.  The Megalodon shark is regarded as one of the largest and most powerful predators in history.  This giant shark reached lengths of 60 feet.  Scientists believe it looked like a stockier version of the great white shark. The name Megalodon means “big tooth.”

North Carolina Wreck Diving – May 12th – 13th, 2018

Join the Columbus Scuba family on a trip to North Carolina.  We will be diving with Olympus Dive Center out of Morehead City, NC., and plan to dive such wrecks as the German U-boat 352, Schurz a WWI gun boat, Papoose  a tanker torpedoed by German U-boat 124 and the Aeolus sunk as part of the artificial reef program.  All the dives are 100’ – 110’ deep, so Advanced Open Water and Nitrox Certification are required for this trip.

Wreck Diving in the Graveyard of the Atlantic

Bathed by the clear, warm waters of the Gulf Stream, the coast of North Carolina offers some of the best scuba and wreck diving in the United States.  Nitrox:  If not yet certified this is a great opportunity to take advantage of the benefits of nitrox.  Learn how nitrox can increase your no decompression bottom times, especially on repetitive dives.  In this course you will learn how to manage oxygen exposure, analyze oxygen content in your scuba tank and how to set your dive computer for diving enriched air nitrox.

Ginnie Springs, Florida – March 10th – 17th, 2018

Join the Columbus Scuba family for our annual Ginnie Springs Florida trip.

Cavern: In the Cavern Course we will focus on line handling, reel use and emergency procedures, specialized equipment for cavern diving, such as lights and redundant breathing systems, techniques for avoiding disorientation, dive planning, depth and distance limitations and air management.

Advanced Open Water: In this course we will work on the skills learned in Open Water. Advanced Open Water is “just more diving.” Learn about and plan deeper dives, work on buoyancy and navigation and the best of all- do a night dive! You don’t have to be an advanced a diver, it’s designed to advance your skills.
Complete AOW and move onto Cavern the same week.

Open Water Certification: Four dives are needed to complete the certification. Complete these dives and move onto Advanced OW the same week.
